We have several cargo boxes that will work with the factory roof rack you have on your 2005 Pilot. The prices and sizes vary quite a lot, so you can decide which cargo box would work best for you.

One of our least expensive boxes is the Thule Sidekick # TH78GC. This is an 8 cubic foot box that measures 54 inches long x 25 inches wide x 15-1/2 inches high, and weighs just 20-lbs.

The next step up would be the Yakima Skybox 12, part # Y07334. This box has 12 cubic feet of storage and it measures 92 x 24 x 16, and weighs 41-lbs. This is a dual-side opening box and it comes with locks to keep your gear secure and to secure the box to your crossbars.

I also have a 2005 Honda Pilot with 2 stock cross bars mounted over roof rails. I want my roof to look more safari like, like a cargo rack (with lights if possible) but on kinda on a budget. Also would like to know if I were to get it, if it would make me not able to use my sun/moon roof.

Mounting a basket and lights to the factory crossbars is definitely a quick way to give your Pilot that rugged, safari look. I really like the design of the Yakima Warrior baskets, and the 44" LoadWarrior # Y07070 comes in at a friendly price point. You could then add the Light Mounting Brackets # Y07075 with your choice of lights (I like the MaxxTow # MT70882) to complete the setup. Add some cargo and bungees to the basket and you'll be set.
