Comparing the Curt and etrailer Hitches that will Fit a 2016 Toyota RAV4

Question:

Will the Curt C12108 hitch be a good choice for my 2016 Rav4 LE 4 cyl. I will be pulling a 1200 lb pop-up camper with under 200 lb tongue wt. Ive been pulling the same trailer for the past 20 yrs with several different cars and hitches, mostly Hidden Hitch. Since I have an assortment of 1.25 inch drawbars, I figured it makes sense to continue with that size receiver. Im assuming the drawbars are interchangeable between brands? I live in Vermont, where salt is used on the roads during our long winters. Will this hitch hold up to that? Thanks

The Curt Class II Hitch 1-1/14 inch , # C12108, is a good choice for your Rav4. I would normally suggest a 2-inch option but your logic of continuing to use your 1-1/4 inch accessories is solid.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

The Curt hitch has a black powder coat that will protect it against the weather, but the salt and long weather will take a toll on its finish. It will be important to check the finish regularly.
