Recommended Camper Tie Downs For 2016 Ram 3500 Dually With Factory Hitch
Question:
I have 2016 Crew Cab 3500 Dually W/ 8ft bed and factory Hitch and no steps. Is Steel or Aluminum for TLD3109 and TLD2124 the same strength? Will be on Outer Cape Cod beaches. Aluminum wont rust but is it as strong. Will be holding about 6K. I also assume that the Camper Anchor Relocation Kit is camper specific. I havent purchased camper yet but will be looking at SB and FT 11-12 foot slide in.

The TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs - Front # TLD2124 and rear # TLD3109 are going to be stronger than the aluminum versions of # TLD3109A and # TLD2124A because Aluminum is a softer metal in general but this product is designed to work well for this purpose. The Aluminum tie-downs will still hold your camper in place without any issue because the majority of the weight is on the entire bed of your truck and the tie-downs are plenty strong to hold and stabilize. I recommend the aluminum because you will be in salty air.
It is recommended on Dually trucks to use the TorkLift Camper Anchor Relocation Kit # TLA7004 to move the anchor points because it may be difficult to position over the fenders. This is needed based on camper dimensions. Measure from front of camper slide in point to rear anchor point; kit is needed if less than 90 inches
I recommend using the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles for Frame-Mounted Tie-Downs - Polished Stainless Steel - Qty 4 # TLS9526-2-LK to secure your camper to the anchors
Item # TLS9526-2-LK
