How to Bypass Factory Wiring in 2015 F-150 to Have Always-On 12V Signal on 7-Way Socket
Question:
Hello, I have a 2015 ford F-150 XLT that came with the towing package but no OEM braker controller I had to install an aftermarket version but I had the OEM wire provision behind the dash board. my problem is that I have no 12v power at the 12V battery pininch from the 7 way connector I used a tester for that. I was told that the truck is setup to provide 12v only when the truck is running, a trailer configured in the program of the truck, but any of this work for me. could you please tell me how to get this 12V?

If you want an always-on signal on your F-150's 7-way pin for the trailer 12V power circuit you could bypass the factory wiring simply by connecting a length of 10-gauge wire # 10-1-1 to the appropriate pin on the 7-way and connecting the other end to a 40-amp circuit breaker like # PK54540. The other end of the breaker (the copper-colored post) then connects to the battery positive post. You'll need ring terminals # 44-5310A.
