SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack Install For A 2017 Chevrolet Malibu
Question:
Where does the SportRack roof rack SR1010 install on the new 2017 Chevrolet Malibu? The dimensions are not listed in the instructions.

To begin installation of the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack part # SR1010 on your 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, open the passenger's- and driver's-side doors. Make sure that the screws that hold the clamps in the roof-rack feet are loose before positioning the feet on your roof.
For the front crossbar, you will need to measure from the top of the windshield and place the crossbar 9" back from that point. The feet should be positioned 30" apart from each other. The second crossbar will need to positioned 27" back from the first bar for a spread distance of 27" in total. The rear crossbar feet will need to be placed 29" from one another. I have attached a photo to further illustrate the measurement process.
Before attaching the clamps to the door jambs and tightening them down, you need to make sure that the feet and pads are oriented correctly. The bottom of each foot can be rotated to better fit the slope of your roof. Make sure that the feet are sitting flush against the roof.
Once the feet are properly positioned, attach the clamps to the door jambs and tighten via the screws in the feet. Then place the locking covers over the feet to deter theft of the rack.
The following dimensions of the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack crossbars are 50" long x 1-1/4" wide x 7/8" tall with a weight capacity of 130 lbs.
