Recommended Base Plate Kit for a 2008 GMC Acadia
Question:
I have a stowmaster towbar on a 2005 Suzuki. I now want to tow my 2008 Acadia using the same towbar. can I do that. What base plates do I need for the Acadia.

The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit # 523149-1 is what you will want to use with your 2008 GMC Acadia as long as it does not have a brush guard. This base plate kit is compatible with the Roadmaster StowMaster # RM-501.
Keep in mind that you will need to make sure you also have a Safety Cable Set # RM-643, Tow Bar Wiring # RM-15247, and since most states now require a Supplemental Braking System it would be good to have one as well.
For a Supplemental Braking System I recommend going with the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400. This is a proportional braking system that is easy to setup and is compatible with many vehicles. Since the Patriot needs to use a 12V power source you will also need to use the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 to provide the power without draining the battery on your Acadia since it will need to be disconnected while being towed.
You will also want to make sure that you check your owner's manual for any specifications (like the disconnected battery) while towing.
I have attached some review videos for you to check out as well.
