Which Draw-Tite Class III Hitch Offers Most Ground Clearance on 2015 Ford Edge Titanium
Question:
Im looking at 2inch receiver hitches for my 2015 ford edge titanium. I was wondering which hitch has the most height from the top of the receiver tube to the ground. Ive discounted the curt hitches because they cant take a bike carrier without a strap hooked on the paint of the rear hatch. So it looks like its between the to draw-tite hitches. Does one work better than the other with the hands free liftgate? Thanks.

Aftermarket trailer hitch installation will typically block the center sensor of a vehicle lift gate system but does not affect the others, so usually all that needs to happen is you swing your foot near the outer sensors rather than the central one. There is no difference between the two Draw-Tite hitches in this regard.
The actual height above ground of an installed hitch depends on a number of things: passenger load, cargo load, wheel and tire size, tire tread depth and inflation pressure. For your 2015 Ford Edge Titanium three different OEM wheel/tire sizes are offered: 235/65-17, 245/60-18 and 265/40-22. Actual height of your installed hitch will depend on each of these factors. The dimension provided in our install video if for that specific vehicle
Between the two Draw-Tite Class III hitch options, parts # 75234 and # 75214, the greater ground clearance comes from hitch # 75214. I cannot give you an absolute height for your installed hitch (due to the factors noted above) but I can assure you that 2-inches more ground clearance comes with # 75214. I confirmed this with my contact at Draw-Tite.
