How to Convert the 4-Way Trailer Connector on 2011 Ford Escape to a 7-Way
Question:
I have a trailer equipped with electric brakes. It has a cylindrical style plug for lights and brakes. Can I use this on my 2011 Escape? I did some more searching...my trailer has a Pollak style plug, flat blade contacts, and one center contact 7 total. WIll the factory Ford Escape 2011 wiring system adapt to this without butchery?

Yes, your 2011 Ford Escape can work with the 7-way connector that is on your trailer.
If you have a 4-way present at the rear of your vehicle you would need a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. I have attached installation instructions and a video of this product being installed on a similar vehicle to show you what its like.
If you do not have a 4-way connector present at the rear of your vehicle you would first need a Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring for the Ford Escape, part # 118551. I attached installation instructions for this wiring harness for you.
