Recommendation for Attaching Solar Panels on the Roof of a 2010 Ford E-350 Van

Question:

I have a 2010 Ford E-350 extended van and would like to buy a roof rack from you to mount three solar panels on. I am not sure which rack would be the best for my application. I like the Rhino rack because the legs are about 6 inches tall. I am a 70 year old lady so bear with me . I dont really know the proper names of everything. I want the solar panels mounted on an aluminum rail that is shaped like an L with a bunch of holes in it, then onto the roof rack. Maybe you should pick the rack that would work best for my van. Thank you

For a roof rack to fit your 2010 Ford E-350 Van, I recommend the Inno Square Crossbars, # INB165, and Inno Feet for Square Crossbars, # INSD.

The square load bars measure 65 inches long x 7/8 of an inch tall X 1-1/4 inches wide. The two crossbars have a weight capacity of 220 lbs.

The Inno feet # INSD use the rain gutters of your vehicle to attach to the roof. The feet include a special wrench that will allow you to munt the feet to the van. The wrench makes installation quick and easy.

For mounting the solar panels, I recommend using a cargo basket like the Inno Shaper 100 Roof Cargo Basket, # IN569. This roof basket measures 46-1/2 x 41-7/8 inches and is made of light weight aluminum. The basket weighs only 23 lbs , making mounting on the roof of your van easier than steel baskets. I recommend using a basket or a platform to mount your solar panels. Solar panels can be delicate and mounting to a already flat and sturdy surface like in the Inno basket will lower the risk of damage.
