Recommendations for Carrying Cargo on the Roof of a 2007 Ford Focus Sedan
Question:
Any recommendation for storage on the naked roof of my four door 2007 Ford Focus? Im open to racks and storage, as well as cargo bags. Im looking to store backpacking packs on the roof for a road trip. Just trying to get as much storage as I can on top of my little sedan roof.

The ideal way to carry items on the naked roof of your 2007 Ford Focus sedan is to install a roof rack and use a cargo box. There are also cargo bags that can be used without adding a roof rack.
The benefit of a roof rack and cargo box is that the system won't be resting on the roof and boxes offer better security and protection from the elements. Cargo bags are generally less expensive and easier to store.
If you want to go with a roof rack and box the most cost efficient system is from Rhino-Rack using bars # RRVA118B-2, feet # RRRLKVA, and fit kit # DK061.
If you go with a cargo bag instead of a roof rack then Rightline bag # RL100S20 is a good choice. It will work with a naked roof but I recommend using car clips # RL100600 so you won't have to run the straps through the interior of the vehicle. I also recommend using protective pad # RL100650 to not only protect the vehicle roof but also to help keep the bag in place while traveling.
