How is Trailer Wiring Connector Used with Trailer if it is Stored in Rear Hatch
Question:
I watched this video on how to install the connectors. In the video, he says that normally one would leave the 4 flat connector in the cargo area but in this case he needed to connnect additional things so he ran it out the bottom of the car. If I leave the 4 flat connector in the cargo area until I need it, how do I connect it to my trailer? Through the back door seam?

Expert Reply:
A trailer wiring harness like # 118304 for a 2008 Toyota Sienna is generally stored in the rear cargo area and then draped through the seam of the rear hatch, like you said, when in use. The hatch seal is padded enough to protect and not damage the wiring.
It's generally considered to be safer for the wiring to store it in the rear hatch because it isn't exposed to the elements when not in use.
