Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for Reese Hitch Installed in 2008 Toyota Tundra Short Bed

Question:

About 5 years ago I purchased and installed a Reese 5th wheel sliding hitch to use in my 1996 Chevy 1500K pickup to pull a 1999 Fleetwood Prowler 25foot trailer. Im looking at buying a used 2008 Toyota Tundra 4WD, will this same hitch work in the Tundra? I assume I would need to at least buy new bars for the Tundra to mount the hitch to if it will work. Or will I need to buy all new bars, slider- hitch, and mounting kit for the 2008 Tundra? Thank you for your help.

Your Reese slider fifth wheel hitch can easily be transferred to your 2008 Toyota Tundra. All you need is the correct rail kit confirmed as a fit for the truck.

For that I would recommend the custom install kit part # RP50084-58 as it will install much easier and faster than a universal style kit and because it minimizes drilling as well. The universal kit that is a fit for your truck is the part # RP30035-309 which is priced better but the install will be much more involved and time consuming.
