Question:

I was curious as to which latch would replace a Bargman L-300? Thanks,

I did some research on the Bargman L-300 lock that you mentioned in your question, and it appears that these have not been made in a long time. Specific replacement parts for this particular line are no longer produced.

If you are needing to replace the lock, I recommend looking at a similar design handle lock like the Redline Full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch # L3980. This will mount in a 3-3/8 inch x 4-5/8 inch hole and will work on doors up to 1-1/16 inches thick.

I have attached a short demonstration video on this lock as well as a link that will take you to our available selection of locking latches for you to look through.

This lock has no mechanism for the inside of the door. How, then, can it be used to replace an L300?

Chris didn't say that this is an exact replacement. He said that this is a similar design to the L-300.

@JonG it is a baggage door lock in the video suggested for an entry door lock? I am also searching to replace the old Bargman L-300, with no options available for any modern replacement.

@Chris It sounds like you want an entry door - not a baggage door. The Bargman L-300 has not been made for a long time and is no longer available anywhere that I know of. If you would like to send me the door latch cut out measurements and door thickness measurement, I can look and see if I can find something that will work, or only require a little adjustment to the cut out opening. In the mean time, take a look at the link below to see the latches we have. This is what I will pick from.
