Parts Needed to Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector to Power Trailer's Brakes with 2003 Dodge Ram 3500
Question:
It appears my truck came with a 4-pin trailer harness. How would I go about integrating electric trailer brakes into this? I see that there is a wiring harness plug under my Dash and a fuse in the fuse panel for electric trailer brakes.

Since your 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 already has a 4-way trailer connector you'll need to use an adapter to a 7-way like the # 37185. You'll need to run wiring for the other functions. I suggest using # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot. Specifically for the brake circuit I've linked a help article that provides the details on the wiring and how to complete the installation.
If you're going to be wiring the 12-volt hot lead on the 7-way you'll need to use a 40 amp circuit breaker # 9510.
Then for the controller I suggest the Prodigy P3 # 90195. It has a detailed LCD instead of using flashing lights or codes for the controller's functions. To install it use # 3020-P that plugs in under your Ram's dash into that connector you found.
