There are a multitude of hitch and roof mounted bike rack options for you to carry 4 bikes with your 2014 Toyota Prius. However, for a class I hitch receiver, which is the only option available on a Toyota Prius, you are limited to a maximum of 2 bikes attached to the rear hitch receiver per the hitch and bike rack manufacturers. Rest assure as you will still be capable of hauling 4 bikes in total with the combination of a roof and hitch mounted bike rack.

For starters you will need a hitch receiver. The Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch part # 24847 is an excellent choice. There is no drilling required making installation a breeze.

The best option to support multiple bikes on your hitch receiver is our Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack part # TH9058. It features a dual arm support system that folds down when not in use and tilts backward for access to the rear cargo area. In order to safely transport women's and children's bikes in a level position you will need the Thule Bike Adapter Bar part # TH982XT. For added security, check out our Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device part # THSTL2. For a full list of all our hitch mounted bike rack options, see attachment link.

In order to carry the additional two bikes you will need a roof mounted bike rack. If you are starting with a naked roof, meaning no rails or crossbars, I recommend the Thule Roof Rack made of parts # TH712400, # TH710501, and # TH145001 paired with 2 of our Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Carrier part # RBC035. These lightweight aluminum bike racks feature a low-profile design with integrated locking mechanism. Don't forget the Quick-Release Locking Skewer for Rhino-Rack Bike Carriers part # RRRBCA022 to deter theft. For more choices of roof mounted bike rack carriers, see attached link.

Attached I have included a video installation guide for our Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch part # 24847, as well as a video review of the Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack part # TH912XTR and our Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Carrier part # RBC035.
