Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2011 Jeep Wrangler with Roadmaster Base Plates and Curt Tow Bar
Question:
Can you use this in conjunction with the road master ez4 base plate that I have on my 2011 jeer wrangler?

In order to use the Curt tow bar # C19745 with Roadmaster EZ4 base plates # RM-521448-4 you would need to add adapter # RM-025 and also quick disconnects # RM-201 (to make the base plate arms easily removable).
In addition to the base plates and tow bar you will also need safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your 2011 Jeep Wrangler. For cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground.
For lighting the diode kit # RM-154 is a popular choice. Or if you want to bypass the Jeep wiring you can use bulb and socket kit # RM-155. It also appears that the battery has to be disconnected to flat tow the Jeep (consult owner's manual to confirm). To do this automatically use quick disconnect # RM-766. You can also add a charge line to maintain the Jeep battery using # RM-156-25.
You may also need a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar level. I have linked a help article showing how to measure and a link to the high/low adapters we carry.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the preferred systems for our installers and what I recommend is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO proportional system, # SM99251. It will apply the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
If your vehicle's brake lights do not illuminate when the vehicle is off or if the ignition is in the "tow" position, stop light switch kit # RM-751452 is required for a braking system to work properly. Also, the # RM-88400 relay is required to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
Be sure to consult your vehicle owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
