Recommended Sway Control for a Trailer With a Small tongue Pulled by a 2010 Ford E-350 Super Duty
Question:
Recommendation: Equalizer / stabilizer. 2010 Ford E350 Super Duty with Knapheide KUV body not a dually. Towing enclosed trailer 20foot with 6 foot V front not much tongue exposed, tandem 7000# axles. Too many choices on your site. Please advise.

The best way to keep your towing setup level and to prevent sway would be to use a weight distribution system, but if your trailer tongue space is limited then a weight distribution system might not be the best option for you.
You might be able to use a weight distribution system that uses the chains, like the Reese Strait-Line # RP66084, along with some chain hangers, part # RP58305, which will allow you to install this system on the side of your trailer tongue. Please keep in mind that when using a weight distribution (WD) system you will want to calculate your Total Tongue Weight (TTW) which is your trailer Tongue Weight (TW) plus the weight of any cargo behind your tow vehicle's rear axle. Once you know your TTW, then you will want to pick a system that has a range which your TTW falls in the middle of.
If you have really limited tongue space, then the Tuson Electronic Sway Control System, part # 335TSC-1000, will be the best option for you. The Tuson installs on your trailer and will activate your brakes when it senses that your trailer starts to sway. Your trailer 7-Way wiring harness will plug into the Tuson which, in turn, will plug into the 7-Way at the rear of your 2010 Ford E-350.
Even though your E-350 will most likely already have a 7-Way wiring harness near the rear bumper, we do have the parts available to make sure you have a fully functional 7-Way.
If your E-350 has the Class II factory tow package for a 7-Way then all you will need is the Tekonsha # 118261 to give yourself a 7-Way.
If your E-350 did not come with a tow package then you will want to use the Tekonsha # 118551 which will splice into your lighting functions to give you the appropriate signals for a 4-Way.
Unless your E-350 came with the 7-Way then you will need to use the Universal Installation Kit, part # ETBC7, to give yourself a fully-functioning 7-Way to use with the Sway Master. The # ETBC7 kit will plug directly into your 4-Way which will then, after the appropriate wiring is run, give you your 7-Way wiring harness.
One of the wires from the # ETBC7 kit is run to the battery, and the other is run to an aftermarket brake controller. If you do not already have a brake controller then I recommend using the Prodigy P2 # 90885 since it is easy to setup and use.
