Converting Drum Brakes to Disc Brakes on a Trailer With Triple 7,000 lb Axles

Question:

We have a 2014 Kaufman Mini 5 with 3 7,000 lb. e-z lube axles. We want to convert to disc brakes, so we need 3 sets. Is this the right part?

The Kodiak Disc Brake Kit, part # K2HR712, that you referenced will fit axles that are rated for 7,000 lbs that use a #42 spindle. It will work with 16 inch and larger wheels that use an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern. Since axles can vary depending on the manufacturer, as long as your current spindle is a #42 and/or uses the correct bearing, races, and seals, then these disc brakes will be the perfect upgrade for you. The correct bearings, races, and seals are as follows:

Bearings (sold separately)
Inner bearing: 25580
Outer bearing: 14125A
Races (included)
Inner race: 25520
Outer race: 14276
Seal: RG06-070 (sold separately)
Inner diameter: 2.250 inches
Outer diameter: 3.376 inches

If these are the disc brakes that you will need, then you will need the Bearing Kit, part # BK3-200, which will give you the correct bearings and seals that you need.

Since you have the EZ Lube spindles on your axles, you can use the Grease Caps, part # RG04-120, if your current grease caps are not compatible with the disc brakes.
