Recommended Anti-Rattle Device for Bike Rack on 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver

Question:

Hi, why isnt the Blue Ox Immobilizer made for a 1 1/4 inch hitch receiver? I have a bike rack that wobbles up and down, left to right so Im needing something to hold the rack firmly so it doesnt wobble in any direction. So far Im not seeing anything for 1 1/4 inch hitch receiver that supports this.

We have a few great options for reducing the movement of your bike rack or other hitch-mounted accessory, however as you mentioned, the Blue Ox Immobilizers like # BX88224 are designed for 2 inch or larger hitch receiver openings.

For your 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch, I recommend looking at the economical and easy to use solution, the Quiet Hitch # RM-061-125. This will be used to wedge between the hitch receiver and bike rack to take up play and eliminate movement. I have also included a video on this product for you to look at.

If you like the idea of having a locking hitch pin, you can use the Tow Ready # 5200 along with this device.
