Can Trailer Wiring Harness Power Wire be Connected to Power Port at Back of 2014 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Ive got a 2014 Toyota Sienna XLE that has a 12V power cigarette lighter and 120V power regular plug in the trunk area. Is there a wiring harness that would allow me to hook into the power thats already in the back?

You must connect trailer wiring harness # C56106 to the battery on your 2014 Toyota Sienna for a few reasons.
The main reason is that having the harness connected directly to the battery further isolates it and any shorts from the trailer side from the vehicle. So if there was a short it would blow the power wire fuse or converter but would not harm the vehicle electrical system.
Another reason is that there can be other things fused with the power ports on vehicles and adding more draw could cause a fuse to blow.
And finally the harnesses are not tested for any other installation other than a connection to the vehicle battery. Installing it using a power port can void the warranty and also lead to unwanted behavior of the harness.
