The helper bags are usually installed in place of the jounce bumpers on a vehicle and do not feature the air bags that require inflating. They become more rigid as weight is added to the vehicle and do not affect the ride of the vehicle when no load is added. If you are always carrying the same type load these would be more economical and maybe a better fit for you.

An air suspension system is designed to allow you to adjust the amount of air you put in the air bags depending on the load you are carrying.

For your 2006 Ram the suspension system I recommend is part # TDR2500CA. These include custom brackets for your Ram pickup and do not require any drilling for installation. These have a capacity of 6,000-lbs.

If you want the air suspension system I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite, part # F2701. These also replace the jounce bumpers on your truck. This system has an adjustable air pressure range between 5 and 100 psi.

Using any suspension system on your truck will not increase the load-carrying capacity, and should be used on systems with a suspension in good working condition.

If you want to control the amount of air in the suspension system form the comfort of your truck cab I recommend part # F2178. This is a dual function system so you can adjust the air pressure in the bags separately for uneven loads.

We also have a single function air compressor system # F2158, that adjusts both air bags at the same time.
