Recommended Brake Controller Plug-In Adapter For 2010 Ford F-150
Question:
Hi .. I am going to be installing a voyager brake controller in my 2010 f250 soon. I have located the factory plug behind the coin tray on the dash. I do not have the extra harness and will just be hard wiring it in. Do you know what color wires on the factory harness I will be connecting to? Thanx for any help you can give me!!

We do have the plug-in adapter needed to install the brake controller and it means you do not have to hardwire the brake controller. Using the adapter does save a lot of time and effort.
If you want to hardwire the brake controller you will need a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to identify the wires on your truck. Since manufacturers can change wire color at any time, I can't tell you what functions are based on wire color.
If you do not already have the Voyager brake controller you would need to order part # 39510. The plug-in adapter for your F-150 is part # 22292.
If you have a factory 7-way trailer connector on your F-150, you will be good to go. If you have a 4-way trailer connector you will need part # ETBC7. This plugs into the 4-way connector and you will then need to do some additional hardwiring to complete the installation. I have attached a drawing that show how the wiring is run for a brake controller and the # ETBC7.
