When choosing a weight distribution system, the most important factor to consider is the total tongue weight of your setup. The total tongue weight will be the loaded tongue weight of your trailer (tongue weight when everything is loaded as if you were heading out on your trip) along with any added weight behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. You will want this total to fall somewhere around the middle of the chosen weight distribution system's weight capacity range.

We can take some estimates based on the 5,000-pound GVWR of your trailer, but I recommend verifying the loaded tongue weight with a scale like the etrailer # e99044.

Typically, the tongue weight will be around 10-15% of the trailer's total weight. Using the 5,000 pound GVWR, we can estimate the tongue weight to be between 500-750 pounds. We will want to leave a little wiggle room too for any added weight behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.

The Husky Center Line Weight Distribution 2/ Sway Control # HT32217 will most likely be the best option. This system has a tongue weight capacity of 600 to 800 pounds and will create a more level ride for the vehicle and trailer as well as limit side-to-side movement using steel-on-steel friction in the brackets.
