Hitch and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2016 BMW X5
Question:
I am in the process of buying a 2016 BMW x5d and I need a class 3 hitch and wiring for a 7 way trailer connection. I have a tekosha p3 brake controller that I want to move from my ACURA mdx2014. Do you sell what i need?

The Draw Tite hitch part # 75600 is a confirmed fit for your 2016 BMW X5 so it would be a great choice as it is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch opening.
When installing a brake controller there isn't a way we have found to install the P3 you have but we do have a solution. You would first need to start with a 4-way though. For that you would need part # 119250KIT which is a universal kit that does not require any hardwiring. See install video.
The brake controller you have to use is the RF part # TK94FR as it does not need to tap into the complex wiring of your vehicle. So to install this in your vehicle at this point all you need is the # 37185 which will convert the 4-way to a 7-way. All you need to do then is complete the black wire of this adapter up to the positive post of the battery using 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot), through a breaker like part # 9510.
