To start off with, you will need a base plate kit for your 2011 Ford Ranger. The Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, item # 477-1, is the correct kit for your vehicle.
Next, you will need a tow bar. If you are towing with a motor home that has a 2 inch receiver, the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, item # RM-520, would be a great choice. You will not need the Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnect Kit, item # RM-201, that you selected with this tow bar, because the Falcon 2 comes with the quick disconnect feature.
If you are towing with a vehicle that has a ball hitch, you can use the RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar, item # RM-020, along with the Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnect Kit, item # RM-201, that you selected.
If you have a Super Cab model this tow bar does not have the capacity to tow these vehicles that weigh over 5000 pounds. You would then need the RoadMaster StowMaster Car-Mounted Tow Bar, item # RM-501, which includes quick disconnects. You will also need the RoadMaster Release Tool for Motor Home Mounted Tow Bars, item # RM-066, to release the tow bar when uneven terrain is encountered when unhooking.
Then, you will need safety cables. The RoadMaster 68 inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, item # RM-643, will work with all of the towbars listed above.
Finally, you will need wiring for the Ranger tail lights. I would recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, item # RM-154. We have detailed instructions for you to review, see link, and a video installation of this kit also.
There are many other accessories that can be used when flat towing a vehicle but the above recommendations will get you started.
You should check with the manufacturer and/or your vehicle owners manual for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your vehicle, because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.
