Best Bike Rack Recommendation for 2017 Toyota Prius that Wont Affect Gas Mileage

We want to be able to take our bikes for trips when we'll be riding, but want to make as little impact on gas mileage when were not toting the bikes around and when we are, to the extent that's possible What hitch and bike rack should we be considering?

The all-around best option for transporting bikes is a hitch bike rack. For your situation specifically it doesn't affect gas mileage like a roof bike rack does, and because it doesn't touch the vehicle's painted surfaces anywhere which prevents any possible scratching or denting.

If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.

For a hitch you would want the Draw Tite part # 24966 which is a confirmed fit and would work well.
