Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2005 Mazda 3
Question:
Ok. Im wanting a trailer hitch for my Mazda 3 and Ive figured out that there are 4 of them available. But the weird thing is 2 of them 44x15x7in and the other 2 are 34x8x9in. How can they be 10 inch different from each other and still fit. I dont know which one to order now. Can u please help me with this.

For your 2005 Mazda 3, I only have 2 confirmed fit options for you and they install in exacly the same spot. I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # 24816 over the Curt # C11386 simply because the Curt model requires a support strap # 18050 for any non-trailer load. Either hitch receiver is a custom fit and uses holes already in your frame for attaching, although the holes may need to be enlarged slightly.
If you will be towing with this hitch receiver, I recommend the Sportframe Drawbar 2-1/8" Rise or 2-3/4" Drop 2000 lb Kit # 3592. This will give you a 2-1/8 inch rise or a 2-3/4 inch drop. You will need a hitch ball like # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch option or # 19258 for a 2 inch option.
For wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118420 that easily connects to your factory wiring behind each tail light.
