Can Tekonsha Primus IQ Replace Older Tekonsha Brake Controller in Vehicle
Question:
I have a Tekonsha electric brake unit fitted to my Pajero 2008 Model I dont know the Tekonsha Model but its likely 2008 vintage has 2 wheels for adjustment a slide to apply brakes and a light that shows green when connected and orange/Red depending on brake use. I have been given a newer model as a present a Primus IQ 901160 My question is about the wiring. ? Can I just unplug the current model and plug in to the new one ? Or do I need some extra wiring ? Your providing this information would be very helpful

If the two brake controller have the same style of connector at the rear and you phsically can plug the harness of your old controller into the Primus IQ part # TK90160 then yes it would would well. The Tekonsha harness has remained the same for quite some time now.
Worst case scenario you would have to hardwire the old wires by color to the new harness that comes with the Primus.
