Roof & Wall Vents for Use in Enclosed Trailer

Question:

I have a Triton Vault enclosed trailer that I would like to add vents to. The roof is not flat, it does have some curve to it. Will this vent install be OK, or is there something special that needs to be done because of the curve in the roof. Thank you!

It is possible to install a typical 14 x 14-inch trailer roof vent in your Triton trailer that has a curved roof so long as the surface where the vent will install is flat. These vents, such as # V2092SP-28, are not curved so they need their mounting surface to be flat, or very nearly flat. If the trailer roof has flat sections (say if it is pitched like a house's roof) then you should be fine so long as the curvature is not too severe. Based on your photo it looks like you'll be okay if you install the vent toward one of the side walls, away from the roof's apex.

These vents require a 14-1/4 x 14-1/4-inch rough opening in the trailer roof. You will want to choose a vent installation kit suitable for the roof's outside surface material. Kit # CAM25013 works on rubberized roofs.

We also have vents suitable for use on the sides of a trailer and these can help a lot with ensuring enough air flow to provide cross ventilation. Links to wall vents and ventilators are also included for you. It is often effective to combine a roof vent for hot air to exit with front- or side-facing wall vents that allow cooler air to enter the trailer.
