Universal Rail Kit Recommendation for Use on a 2006 Silverado with a 5-1/2 ft Bed

does this part work for chevy silverado crew cab 5 1/2 foot bed or is there somthing else i can use

You would want to install a Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP30035, in your 2006 Chevy Silverado. I attached installation instructions below for you to check out.
The # RP30439 rails that you referenced is an installation kit that does not include rails, if you do not need rails this would be a great choice for you.
Since your truck bed is shorter than 6-1/2 feet long you will be required to use a Sidewinder King Pin on your trailer in order for you to be able to make sharp turns. If you check out the Sidewinder FAQ page there is a section that has a formula you can use to determine whether or not you will have clearance with the Sidewinder.
