Recommended Complete Flat Tow System For 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek With Automatic Transmission

Question:

I have a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek XV automatic transmission and need to know what you recommend for towing it behind a diesel pusher motorhome? It can be flat towed, right? I like the Blue Ox Aladdin. If that system would work, can you quote me a price for the complete system please? Thank you for your help.

Your 2013 Subaru Crosstrek XV automatic transmission can be flat towed if you don't have a CVT model which cannot and I'd be happy to help with a complete system for you.

For your base plates, I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX3615. For this install you will want to use Loctite Threadlocker # LT37420. This can be used seamlessly with the Blue Ox Aladdin Tow Bar that you referenced (which is discontinued) or the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380. That will come with the safety cables you need.

For your vehicle wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will use your vehicle wiring and protect it from overload with the diodes. It will also give you a clean connection at the front of your vehicle for an easy connection with the included 8 foot coiled connector cable to your diesel pusher motorhome.

For your supplemental braking, I recommend the Air Force One # SM99243. Your diesel motorhome has air brakes so you want a system specifically designed for them. It'll prevent false braking on the Subaru.

The last thing you will need for your system is a high-low adapter. You will need to determine this based on the two vehicles and I've attached an article to help. I've also connected the page link for your convenience so you can see your options.
