Will Installing Air Helper Springs Allow a 2010 Ford F150 4wd to Tow a 29 Ft. 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

I have a Chaparral 29foot Lite fifth wheel camper. Can I pull this okay with my truck. I am putting rear airbags to level the truck when hooked up.

Using a rear suspension enhancement system on the your 2010 Ford F-150 4X4 can help level your truck when a load is placed on in the bed. However, to know if your vehicle will be able to tow your 29ft Chaparral 5th wheel trailer, you will need to know the maximum trailer weight allowed to be towed by your truck. Using helper spring will not increase your vehicle's towing capacity.

You will need to know the total load and ready to tow weight of your trailer to determine if your vehicle is rated to tow this amount. You can find the maximum trailer weight allowed for your vehicle on pages 257-261 of your 2010 Ford F-150 owner's manual.

If you find that your F-150 is rated to tow your 5th wheel trailer, then using air bags, like the Firestone Ride-Rite Air helper Springs # F2525, will help you level out your vehicle and reduce the strain of your vehicle's suspension.
