I am new towing and will be buying a trailer and need to know if Husky Center Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW Item # HT32218 will work with my 2016 GMC Canyon?

Yes, the Husky Center Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # HT32218 is compatible with your 2016 GMC Canyon as long as you have a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver. If you need a trailer hitch receiver, I recommend the Draw-Tite # 76004 because of its strength.

With Weight Distribution, you will want to hit the center of the total tongue weight range of the system. The total tongue weight is the fully loaded tongue weight of the trailer along with any cargo weight behind the rear axle of your Canyon. This Husky system has a rating of 800-1200 lbs for that total tongue weight, so it will be a great system if you are in that range.
