Recommended Roof Rack And Canoe Carrier For 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab
Question:
I want to carry a 12foot canoe on my 2006 Chevy Silverado, extended cab four door. Looking for a recommendation on a quiet carry that bolts on. Cost is not an option, best is an option. Need an opinion.

To carry a canoe on the roof of your 2006 Silverado I first recommend a roof rack like the Thule AeroBlade. The aerodynamic crossbars included with this roof rack are some of the quietest roof racks on the market. To order this roof rack you will need part # TH711400 or # TH711420, part # TH480R, and part # THKIT1522.
To reduce the wind noise and drag even further I recommend using a wind fairing like part # TH22WV. This fairing is 52-inches long and will work great with the 53-inch crossbar in the roof rack.
For a canoe carrier I recommend the Thule Portage, part # TH819. This carrier has universal mount gunwale brackets to secure your canoe. This carrier also includes tie-down straps to help secure the canoe.
