5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation For 2017 Chevy Silverado Short Bed

Question:

I have a 2017 Chevy 2500HD LTZ, 6.0 gasser, crew cab, standard box truck. I intend to purchase one of two trailers. One has a dry wt UVW of 8515 and the other is 9195. Im new to the 5W world, so am wondering which hitch you recommend? I thinkinch something with air cushion makes sense. I also want to be able to remove it and have use of the truck bed when not towing. Most of the time the truck will NOT be towing. Thanks.

You will want to install a below bed rail style of fifth wheel rail kit in your 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500 short bed since you want truck bed access when not towing.

I really like the Demco Hijacker setup that uses the under bed rails part # DM8551002 which are custom fit for your truck.

Then since you need a slider hitch to make tight turns you would want the Demco Hijacker Autoslide part # DM8550022 which will slide as you make tight turns.
