For your baseplates on your 1997 VW Jetta whether you have the turbo or non-turbo model, you will want the # BX3814. I recommend using # LT37420 for this installation.

For your tow bar, I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar - Motor Home Mount - 6,500 lbs # BX7380 which comes with the safety cables you'll need.

For the wiring, I recommend the Optronics Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights - 20' Wiring Harness with 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # TL21RK. There isn't a wiring system custom for your Jetta, so you can use this magnetic system to give you the lighting functions you need with an extremely easy installation and connection.

For your vehicle supplemental braking, I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR. This is a system that will apply the brakes in your Jetta at the same time and with the same amount of pressure that you apply the brakes in your motorhome. This system is easy to install and uses a 12V power inside your Jetta as well as a 12V power for the remote in your motorhome. This braking system installs on the floor board of your Jetta and clamps around your brake pedal using your vehicle brake pedal to apply the brakes. I've attached a video of this installation for you.

The last thing you may need is a high-low adapter. I've attached an article to help you determine what you need. I've attached a link to these adapters as well for your convenience.
