Needing a Hitch on a 1998 Toyota Sienna That Can Support the Weight of a Motorcycle

Question:

I had a quick question for you about a product. Is the max tongue weight actually 500 LB and the 800 LB distributed. I plan to put a dirt bike on this hitch and absolutely need it to support that weight. Also will it fit on a 1998 Toyota Sienna Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 # 75038 Thank you for your time!!!

We do offer a hitch that will fit a 1998 Toyota Sienna, but the Draw-Tite Hitch, # 75038, that you referenced will not fit this vehicle. This hitch is designed to fit the frames of domestic model Ford and Dodge trucks.

I you are needing a hitch for minor towing and for standard hitch accessories like a bike rack, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 75120 is a confirmed fit for the 1998 Toyota Sienna. This hitch will has a 2 inch receiver opening and is rated Class III.

Before you can haul you motorcycle you will need to know your vehicle's tongue weight rating. The hitch is rated at 350 lbs, however, depending on what model of Toyota Sienna you have, your tongue weight rating on your vehicle will either be 200 lbs with out factory towing package or 350 lbs with factory towing package. Meaning the weight of the motorcycle carrier plus the weight of the motorcycle cannot not exceed 200lbs on one model or 350 lbs on the other model.

If you are not sure which model you have, then you can contact your local Toyota dealer with your VIN number. They will be able to see if you have the factory tow package installed.
