I need a spare tire mount for a 15inch 5x4.5 to mount on a 2inch round pipe. Will this work?

The Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier # FHDSTC0101 is designed for use on square or rectangular trailer frames. Its grade 2 hardware would not be strong enough to withstand the necessary torque to hold it in place on the round tongue on your trailer.

However, you can make a simple modification to the trailer to allow you to use the Hi-Mount spare tire carrier. You simply need to have a qualified welder install a piece of steel plate to the tongue in a vertical position so that the mounting hardware for the carrier has a flat surface to grab onto. My contact at Fulton confirmed this will be a satisfactory method to allow you to use this spare tire carrier.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
