Can a Tow Bar be 3-1/2 Inches Out of Level when Flat Towing a 2012 Jeep Liberty

Question:

I have a 2012 Jeep liberty. The center portion of the jeep removable blue ox tow bar apparatus is 3 1/2 inches below the center of the RV receiver . Do I need a receiver height adjustment bar to get within the 3 inch allowance margin. Is the extra 1/2 inch overage in receiver height going to be a problem if uncorrected while towing.

The problem is that the tow bar can only flex so much and if it is 1/2 inch out of the safe zone now then it will be out much more when on uneven terrain. You will want it to be as level as possible. To get a more level set up you can use a high/low adapter to compensate for the 3-1/2 inches of difference between the base plates and the hitch.

We have a 4 inch option, # RM-048-4, that will get you closest to level. Or if you want to be in the safe zone you could use a 2 inch drop model # RM-072-2. I have linked videos of these parts and a help article that explains high/low adapters.
