Recommended Hitch Ball Tow Bar For 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee With Blue Ox Base Plates
Question:
I purchased a Blue Ox Alpha tow Bar and it worked amazing to tow behind our RV. We have sold the RV but retained the tow bar. I am preparing to move and have need to tow my vehicle 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee behind a moving truck that only has a ball hitch. Is there a coupler that Blue Ox can recommend that I can bolt on to the Alpha Tow Bar so that it can be used? Respectfully,

Unfortunately there is no adapter that will work with the shank on your Alpha tow bar that would attach to a ball on the rear of the moving truck. I called my contact at Blue Ox and they told me there is no way to convert the Alpha to be able to tow with a hitch ball.
My best recommendation is to use a tow bar that can be used with a ball and your base plates. I recommend the Blue Ox Adventurer, part # BX7322. This is not terribly expensive and will work with the base plates you have. It is a straight hookup and does not have arms that flex but will work well for you.
Since the tow bar has a 5,000-lb weight capacity you will want to make sure your Jeep is less than that and you are not towing it with any added cargo that will exceed the capacity of the tow bar.
