Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2016 Mazda 3 Hatchback GT Sport
Question:
Hi, Do you have a recommendation for light towing?

Expert Reply:
I suggest the Draw-Tite Sportframe # 24914 for your 2016 Mazda 3 Hatchback. The Curt # C11377 that is available to fit requires the use of a support strap when carrying non-trailer accessories on the hitch. The Draw-Tite doesn't have this requirement.
For a ball mount you can use the # 3593 which includes a pin and clip. A 2 inch hitch ball to fit is # 19258 and a 1-7/8 ball is # 19256.
You'll also likely need trailer wiring to power your trailer's lights. The wiring harness # 119178KIT will provide a 4-way trailer connector for you.
I've linked a few articles you may find helpful as well.
