Recommended Hand-Brake Winch for 1/4 inch 45-50 foot Cable
Question:
looking for a hand winch with break that will accept up to 1/4 cable and mount onto a 45-50foot telescoping ham radio heavy tower to raise the tower up/ down. Need to winches. One for each tower. Already have spool of cable.

The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch, part # DL14730, is what you are looking for. It has a Maximum Drum Capacity of 9/32 inches x 58 feet and includes a hand brake so it will work perfect for your application.
If you end up needing replacement cable, I recommend using part # DL24045. It is 7/32 inches x 50 feet which makes it comparable to what you are using.
