Parts Needed to Install a Brake Controller in a Former Greyhound Bus

Question:

I have a 1963 GMC PD4106 Coach, formerly a Greyhound bus, with an RV conversion. I am looking to install a trailer wiring kit. I just purchased one from you for my 2005 Jeep Liberty. What an easy install. Anything like that for the bus. Is it difficult to do a brake controller as well?

We don't have any custom fit kits that are designed for your greyhound bus. You are going to first need to start with a 4-way though. For that you would need the part # 119250KIT and then would need to use the # ETBC7 to convert to a 7-way and install the brake controller.

I attached a couple help articles on installing brake conrollers for you to check out as well. You are most likely going to need a much longer section of wire than what comes with the ETBC7 for running the output circuit so for that you would want the part # 10-1-1 which is 10 gauge wire sold by the foot.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
