For your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed with factory rail kit the Curt A16 Hitch part # C16521 could be used with the adapter part # C16023. At this time (January 2017) it's the best option but there should be direct fitting hitches for the rail kit coming out soon according to Curt.
