Mounting Bracket Installation on Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C
Question:
How do I securely mount the controller unit to the bracket? I am a heavy duty mechanic /fabricator by trade. I am attempting to mount this unit under the dash of a 1975 mack R model that I am restoring to pull a camper. This is a great concept of converting air brakes to electric brakes, but I am struggling with the mounting of the U shaped bracket to the unit. The U bracket doesnt seem to fit the controller unit. There is no way to mount the bracket to the controller to prevent the controller moving around as there are no holes in the controller to secure the U bracket to.

The U-bracket included with the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C is intended to support the controller from below and attach to the bottom of the dash. It does NOT attach to the controller in the way that typical brake controllers like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 do.
The installation process of the Hayes controller includes application of double-sided tape, which is then followed by the installation of the bracket.
It may be necessary to slightly adjust the shape of the bracket by hand for it to fit comfortably.
