Recommended Fifth Wheel Hitch For 2007 Ford F-350 With B&W Gooseneck Hitch Installed

Question:

Hello, I currently have an F-350 short bed with a BandW gooseneck in it. I am looking to get a 5th wheel trailer, and now need a hitch for it. I considered the Companion, but I would like to install a Sidewinder pin box on the trailer, so I need some help. Are there any 5th wheel rails mounts that will work with around the BandW mount that is already installed, or will I need to remove it and be left with a hole in my bed? Thanks for any input you can provide!

For your 2007 F-350 I recommend the Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter, part # BWRVK3400.

This slider fits in the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch ball hole and you then have the convenience of both a fifth wheel or a gooseneck if needed. The # BWRVK3400 hitch offers 12-inches front to back travel and may work well for you. This shoudl give you the clearance you need for your fifth wheel trailer.

Unfortunately Sidewinder prohibits the use of any gooseneck to fifth wheel adapters with their products so the other alternative for you is to remove the gooseneck and install a fixed fifth wheel hitch.

If the Companion does not give you the clearance you need I recommend the Reese , part # RP30033. This is a 22,000-lb hitch that has dual jaws that give you great jaw-to-king-pin contact.

For an installation kit I recommend part # RP50082-58. This is a custom kit that needs less drilling for installation.

For the Sidewinder, if you let me know what pin box you have on your trailer I will be glad to help make a recommendation that will work for you.
