Recommended Two Wheeled Trailer Jack For Positioning Trailer On Gravel Surface

Question:

I just purchased a Rockwood HW296 High wall and it is bigger than I thought. The pop-up camper is a little over 3000 lbs with a weight capacity of just under 5000 lbs. It came with a single somewhat plastic wheel for the jack. When I look at the specs, it refers to the tow hitch weight as 371 lbs though I do not know what this means. I am searching for either a wide single wheel or a double wheel that would adapt to the current jack. Our favorite camp site has gravel and I am concerned due to the weight, the wheel will get hung up in the gravel if we attempt to manually push it into a better position. Do you have any recommendations?

The tongue weight they reference refers only to the weight that is on the coupler of your trailer. This weight is explained in the attached article. It is typically 10-15% of the trailer's total weight.

For your single wheel jack, the only wide or dual wheel option is for Fulton F2 Jacks like # F1413250334.

The wheels are # F500265 for the two wheel assembly or # F500266 for the wide track wheel assembly. The # F500132 you were looking at is only for Fulton Side Mounted Swivel Jacks.

My recommendation is to install a Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover - Topwind - 15" Lift - 500 lbs # STC-V211. This will allow you to easily move your trailer over any gravel or other surface you take your trailer.
