We can help you with base plates and the other components needed for safe and legal flat towing of your 2016 Ford Expedition 4x4 behind your Monaco motorhome. I can suggest as a good starting point for your planning process a review of the linked articles on the basics of flat towing, braking systems and hitch adapters. The items required to flat tow your Ford include a tow bar, safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit of one kind or another, a high/low hitch adapter and both base plates and a braking system for the toad. All are covered in the article on flat towing basics.

Let's start with base plates. You'll keep a cleaner appearance on the Expedition by using Blue Ox's base plate kit # BX2671 which features removable arms. With this kit you can use their excellent Alpha tow bar # BX7380. This tow bar includes safety cables so you can save that expense.

For a wiring/lighting solution you have many options that range from inexpensive and easy-to-install magnetic tow lights like # TL21RK to hardwire diode kits like # RM-154 and bulb-and-socket kits like # RM-155, both of which require you to get into the vehicle's wiring. If you prefer not to mess with the Expedition's wiring then go for the magnetic light type. The linked page displays all options.

For a braking system in the toad I recommend the portable and wireless Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, which offers simple installation and set-up without having to modify the vehicle. You will also need a relay kit # RM-88400 unless you choose magnetic lights.
