Adding any extension to your trailer hitch will reduce the towing capacity by 50 percent. For example, if your trailer hitch has a towing capacity of 3,500-lbs, and then you use an extension, the capacity of the hitch is reduced to 1,750-lbs.

If your trailer can be towed with an extension I recommend part # HE18. This extender is designed for a 2-inch receiver opening and extends the hitch by 18-inches. This extension can not be used if you have a weight distribution system installed.

For an 8-inch hitch extender I recommend part # C45791. This is also designed for a 2-inch receiver opening.

I have attached a link to the hitch extenders we offer you can check out.
