US manufactured vehicles of that era typically used the same color scheme as the # C59496 harness. Yellow wire for left turn, green wire for right turn, brown wire for running lamps, white for a ground connection and red for brake lamps. Your Cadillac is most likely a 2 wire system which uses the same bulb for brake lamps and turn signals. If this is the case, you'll connect the wires as described above, but ground both the white AND the red wire.

In the eventuality that the wires don't match up color for color from the # C59496 harness to your Seville you will want to use the included circuit tester from the kit while a friend applies the turn signals and brakes to determine the functions of the wires in harness feeding the taillight assemblies at the rear of your vehicle and then wire that harness to the respective wires of the # C59496 trailer wiring harness.
